Young Problem Solvers’ Series – Fundamentals of the Model Method

Our Young Problem Solvers’ Series – Fundamentals of the Model Method programme introduces students to the model method, a powerful problem-solving tool central to the Singapore Math. By learning how to organise and represent information in a word problem as a simple diagram, your child will be able to effectively break down word problems systematically to make even complex problems easy to solve.

This programme is available only to students studying outside of Singapore. Class timings are in SG/MY time zone. For students in Singapore, visit The Learning Lab Singapore.

We offer an exclusive money-back guarantee* after the first session.

*If you are not satisfied with the programme after the first lesson, you may withdraw and get the fees for the remaining sessions fully refunded to you.

We will introduce your child to the 2 basic models of part-whole and comparison models, and teach him or her to draw models to solve word problems involving the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Your child will also progress on to learn to draw 2 sets of comparison models to illustrate simply the changes taking place in the more complex word problems, and also learn how to construct before-and-after models to represent the increases or decreases pictorially.

Recommended Age Group: 8-10 years old
Duration: 10 hours over 3 weeks (1 hour per session)
Mode: Online
