Young Writers’ Series – Fundamentals of Story Writing
The Young Writer’s Workshop – Fundamentals of Story Writing is a programme that will teach students how to craft compelling stories and develop their own writing style. Students will learn the fundamentals of good story writing as well as how to plan a good story featuring a clear climax. Students will also be introduced to different literary devices to add interest to their stories. By mastering these basics, students will be able to produce exciting and engaging writing pieces that captivate readers.

In this programme, students will learn how to apply basic writing techniques like show-not-tell, 5 senses descriptions and more. Students will also get a chance to hone their creative writing skills. They will be introduced to the science fiction genre and will try their hand at planning and writing their own story using the techniques learnt during the previous sessions. For each lesson, students will be guided by their teacher through a series of short exercises to hone their writing abilities as well as analyse sample writing pieces.

Duration: 12 hours over 3 weeks (2 hours per session)
